I bought it from the previous owner who converted the original shape into a convertible using a Spitfire MK2 body.
He also replaced the 2.0L engine by a 2.5L TR6 engine.
I replaced the old Stromberg 150`s (with special needles for the 2,5L engine) with reconditioned SU HS6`s.

New body part 2 (winter 2013-2014)
(20/12/2016)The old body wasn't completely straight resulting in a poor fit for the new GT-hardtop. Therefore I purchased an other body which was straight enough. It was a Spitfire MK3 body, so I had to some minor changes to make it MK2 spec.

Simply awesome to see an Ashley Laminates hardtop. I’ve not worked on my Spitfire for nearly 10 years. Got it back in 03 or so. I managed to get a hardtop but was in fairly poor form so I’ve never seen it properly on my car.
Have you had any trouble with cracking in the gel coat on the outer skin of the hard top?
I have the same steering wheel but don’t have all the parts to mount it. . Do you have a extra set on mounting parts that you can sell. Thanks
