Hi Chris,
I’d suggest leaving the car where is it so others can see it, and perhaps just put a note in the body text to say that is has been sold.
Once it is sold, if you can get the new owner to join the site, we can look at transfering the vehicle to their account.

Garth replied to the topic Uprated Alternator in the forum Stronger, Faster, Better… 8 years, 9 months ago
Hi all,
After adding yet more electrical gee-wizardry (leccy fan) to the Sprint and watching the volt meter whilst running the cam in, I found it was showing just over 13 volts at 2500rpm – no good.
I’m currently running a modified Bosch alternator which is apparently outputing 55amp – whatever it is, it is insufficient.
I like the look of the…[Read more]

Garth replied to the topic Sprint exhaust manifold sealing in the forum Vehicle Help 8 years, 9 months ago
Hi Alex,
When sealing my exhaust manifold, i’ve used an aftermarket gasket provided by SprintParts.
External ceramic coating certainly lasts and isn’t very expensive.
Note that if you spill oil on it (by, say, removing the rocker cover) that the oil wont burn off due the reduced manifold surface temp.Cheers,

Hi Alex,
Have you had any joy sorting your overdrive issue?

Hi Alex,
I believe the guys at Sprintparts use Penrite 10 Tenths gearbox oil.
There might be something of use here:

Garth replied to the topic Weber 45s won't maintain engine speed in the forum Vehicle Help 8 years, 9 months ago
I’ve recently fitted Weber 45 DCOEs to my Dolomite Sprint and replaced the soft mounts.
They should be jetted in the general range, but I can’t get them to maintain engine speed. When trying to warm the engine up, holding the throttle in a fixed position, revs will hold at 2000rpm for a bit then drop down to nothing and car stalls. I can "dance"…[Read more]

Ah-ha!
It does feel fine if i switch the engine off.
Prior to this happening the thrust bearing had been squealing a bit…I guess the solution is a “simple” case of:
– remove gearbox
– replace bearing carrier
– replace friction plate

Had the gearbox out over the weekend and had a good look around.
Turns out the problem was excess corrosion on the input shaft spline and friction plate spline.A combination of thinners, filing, wire brush and elbow grease was used to clean up the surfaces. Splines were re-greased and gearbox shoved back in car and the clutch is as good as new!
